AS Paljassaare Kalatööstus has more than ten-year experience in producing frozen fish and vegetable products. The company was founded in 1990 as a Finnish-Estonian joint venture. Know-how of production and products came from Finland.
Production lines originate from the best manufacturers of machines for this field from Europe and Korea (Koppens, Baader, Klick-Klock, AEW, Ilapack, etc).
Uncompromised quality from buying raw materials up to preserving and distributing the end products is of utmost importance for us.
White meat and low-fat ocean fish from Peru, Norway, Russia, Iceland (Mintai, Blue Whiting, Hake, Hoki, Cod, Saithe, but also Salmon) are the main raw materials. All the raw materials are originated from fishing and production companies which are well-known and recognized in Europe. All the raw materials are examined in the company's quality control laboratory.
Auxiliary materials, such as breading and spices, are bought from Germany, England and Finland.
We consider it very important that the valuable nutrients, vitamins and the distinctive taste of fresh fish preserve while processing the frozen fish. All our products are absolutely preservative free - their only conservator is deep freezing.
We have started to turn more attention to product development, wishing to, more and more, consider the needs of the consumers and the development trends of fish products in different markets.
We have implemented in the factory the internationally recognized product safety system HACCP (Hazard Analyses of the Critical Control Points System) in order to guarantee the cleanliness of products. Existence of a functioning control system helped us to get the European Union export licence in 1998. Quality standard ISO-9001:2000 was introduced in March 2003.
90% of the output of AS Paljassaare Kalatööstus is exported. The main countries of export are Finland, Poland, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, the Balkans, Lithuania, Latvia.
